Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • Yes! Our background is fairly diverse including government, tourism, and healthcare. We would love to connect with you to discuss how our extensive experience can help your organization’s people, projects, and leaders.

  • As defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Human Resources managers plan, coordinate, and direct the administrative functions of an organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization's management and its employees. HR is seen as a policy enforcer which at times causes employees to feel they don’t have a safe space to discuss personal or professional issues. While the goal of having HR is much needed to have policies in place to protect your business and your people, today’s staffing challenges in the new norm outweigh the ability to keep your company on track much less see progress in a timely manner. SHIFT provides the extra support needed to not only keep your vision on track but also provide dedicated time to deal with staffing challenges, freeing up more time for your management team to focus on your company goals and most importantly scale quicker.

  • SHIFT brings industry experience in understanding your pain points, conflicts, frustrations, and processes. We understand the need to move forward in the most agile way possible while respecting the science and the art of your business. We can coach your teams to reach new levels of growth by helping the organization mature through defined priorities, processes, and solutions that work for the industry. We’ve lived it, we have the battle scars, and have successfully created strong partnerships. Having someone in your corner that thrives on creating tailored solutions and is passionate about taking the journey with you will make you the best equipped and most sought-after company. Your clients, management team, and people will thank you for this.

  • We understand and respect the need for confidentiality. Before engaging with you and/or any of your employees, we will execute a confidentiality agreement tailored to our engagement’s goals. Coaching conversations between the coachee and coach will remain strictly confidential and will not be shared outside of your organization unless it is agreed upon at the onset.

  • At the onset of our engagement, we focus on trust. We get to know our coachees by understanding their personal and professional goals. We gather information from their managers and their peers anonymously. Understanding how we engage is the first order of business with the coachee so they have 100% clarity on how we will work together and where we are gathering our information. As for measuring ROI, SHIFT will provide ongoing reports to their coachee and their manager (or as agreed upon in the contract) as a way to measure progress based on positive behaviors and good consistent habits. SHIFT is 100% dedicated to every individual’s success.

  • At first glance, it would appear that hiring a full-time PM, PMO or Managing Director makes the best sense, but we’ve seen the outcome historically. You hire a full-time employee with a job description and responsibilities that change quicker than you can make an impact in their initial role. By the time you realize you may need another hire or worse made the wrong hire, you’ve spent time and money on recruiting, onboarding, training, perks, 401K, medical/dental/life insurance, taxes, PTO, and sick leave, all while the employee has juggled multiple priorities resulting in burnout. And now you’re faced with either course correcting, reviews, HR actions, additional training, or potentially firing the employee. Hiring SHIFT as a consultant and/or on a contract basis means greater cost benefits since there’s no need for new employee expenses and perks. We are flexible and shift as your needs do, meaning if a project gets canceled or your client changes direction, you simply void your contract with us or ask us to pivot with you. No lengthy painful conversations, disciplining, unemployment paperwork, or employee terminations. No hard feelings. We understand business is business and some things are out of your control.

  • We’re happy you’ve taken the first step in wanting to become a better leader! We completely understand how difficult it can be to ask your manager to pay for something that doesn’t guarantee results. Knowing that you are here looking for help tells us that you are already invested to win. The good news is that most companies offer tuition assistance or ongoing education stipends that you can apply toward SHIFT’s services, especially if it will only help you become better at your job and benefit the organization. Send your manager a link to our website and we’ll handle the rest!

  • Yes! We love small and large projects and the people who manage them! Reach out to us to tell us about the project requirements and we’ll be happy to help!

  • Executive coaching has been known to be quite expensive which is why it was never really offered to non-management employees. We believe that coaching should be offered to everyone, especially at a time when we may not be able to gauge our team’s well-being in the new remote, WFH world. We offer various packages depending on your goals. From fast-track training to help an employee get into a new role quickly, to longer engagements that benefit people needing to prepare for an upcoming promotion. Whatever your need is, we will work with you to find the best solution within your budget.

  • Yes we do both! We know how quickly the landscape changes. We are here to jump in when you need a strong experienced project manager to manage a project, train your project management team or supervise a more senior project manager.
